"Barefoot" footwear update

While waiting outside the stadium for the "How to Train Your Dragon" show, I discovered that although I still adore my Merrell Lithe MJ Gloves, they suck in cold weather. I could feel the cold radiating up from the concrete, through my feet and into my legs. UGH. So I'm back to wearing my Keens until sometime in spring, when the ground warms up.

Hence why I was so excited for waterproof Merrell gloves with the heat shield thingie. Wool socks help. Insoles can also help. But it's kind of the bane of minimal shoes, and I almost gave myself frostbite one day training one frozen ground. (It's not like I didn't notice, it's just that it was a really good training session. Eventually they went beyond numb and started hurting a lot, so I came in.)

It seems to a fair bit?

But I haven't put it to a really serious test - we haven't gotten much real winter weather up here, and much of the time when I'm outside I'm biking and hence wearing bike shoes.
