I am not convinced that there is anything that hurts so much as getting stung by a hornet or wasp on the bottom of the foot.

Ow! That happened to me a couple times as a kid, and I still don't like walking barefoot in the grass as a result.

Yesterday, I went out to pinch the flowers off the basil. That'll teach me to go near flowers. Previous time I got stung was a few weeks ago, I was cutting back one of the rose bushes.

Actually, the chicken worked great; this happened yesterday. Maybe the chicken should become a permanent feature of the yard... er, maybe not.
