Them Aztecs are gonna lower our property values

One of our Christmukkah gifts was from friends of The Man's, who are lovely people but whose religious and political views are opposite ours: they are born-again Christians and libertarians. They sent us a vanity-press novel by "Vox Day". If the pseudonym's similarity to Vox Dei (voice of God) weren't enough to tip me off that the author is a pompous ass, I also found a bunch of links to his foolishness from james_nicoll:

I think it's best if I don't write the thank-you note for such a gift. I am afraid if I got started thanking them for the book, I would be unable to stop listing the ways in which I find the author entertaining and the hilarity it has brought to our household.
