I knew someone in the suburban Midwest who was part of a teenage sex trafficking ring. What was terrible was ppl at school were rude to her after they found out (somehow everyone got caught). In retrospect she might have been telling me about it (we walked home from school together) so that perceived-goodie-goodie me would TELL SOMEONE but I wasn't there w it yet. I wish I would have asked her if she needed or wanted help but all I could do was still be nice to her in Latin class after.

Everyone in this story was a totally ordinary looking white Midwesterner, and my friend may have at some point seen the whole thing as adult and exciting. Boogeymen arent real and you can't tell who they are by looking :(

Did you ever see the weirdo Castle ep where a young rich girl gets kidnapped w her friend? It was ridiculous but like, pretty obviously campy in its way and there are repurcussions. Castle has its own sex-positive/realistic/non-victim blamey vibe about sexuality in general that is probably unrealistic but in a way that I LiKE re raising issues w/o being porny/exploity about it.
